Background
Powell is widely considered one of the greatest lacrosse players of all time. He is a nine-year NLL pro, and the league’s reigning MVP. Powell is currently a member of the Boston Blazers, where he has averaged 84 points per season since 2007.
The 35-year-old right-hander was captain of the US national team in the 2006 World Field Lacrosse Championships. He has also played seven seasons of Major League Lacrosse, last with the Rochester Rattlers in 2008.
At Syracuse, Casey followed Gary Gait and Charlie Lockwood wearing the legendary number 22 jersey. He was a four-time All-American, and was twice named Division I Most Outstanding Player (1997 and 1998).
