Eagle Cup

Eagle Cup

The American Indoor Lacrosse League is a league comprised of several regional leagues; the Original four are Baltimore, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.  The champions of each league meet to compete for the Eagle Cup.

The Eagle Cup is awarded annually to the American Indoor Lacrosse League Champion.  The Eagle Cup is quickly being surrounded by traditions; the popular tradition is the celebratory drinking of Beer or Champagne out of the cup by the winning team. Unlike the trophies awarded by the other leagues in North America, a new Eagle Cup is not made each year; Cup winners keep it until a new champion is crowned. It is unusual among trophies, in that it has the name of the winning players, coaches, management, and club staff engraved on the Cup.

2008 represented the inaugural awarding of The Eagle Cup, thus beginning a new legacy in championship indoor lacrosse.  So named to honor the Native American roots of the sport and to recognize the pioneers of Indoor Lacrosse.
