Freedom Cup

The Freedom Cup is awarded to the winners of the USIL annual Indoor Lacrosse Tournament. In its inaugural year 2009, an invitation was sent to US men’s indoor organizations to field competitive travel teams for the tournament with the goals of increasing the quality of the Indoor lacrosse play in the USA as well as unifying its regulation and organization.

The USIL Freedom Cup is becoming the largest Indoor lacrosse event in the United States featuring teams from all over North America, competing in over 20 games over two days. Showcasing the best lacrosse players in the world, The 2009 Freedom Cup featured the US National Team, The Colorado Sabres, the fierce Upstate Bears from NY and regional teams from Delaware, Virginia and Maryland.  The weekend event captures the attention of the lacrosse community with a fast paced NLL style of lacrosse in front of passionate fans.  Each game in the round robin style of play is less then 60 minutes, with fast and intense competition.  Watching some of the quickest and most talented agile athletes in the country, spectators are entertained by the fast pace and high scoring games, as well as the electric atmosphere created by the avid fans.  Adding to the experience of the event is its location Philadelphia.  The city of Philadelphia has so much to offer the whole family, dining, shopping, entertainment and lodging.  And don’t forget about the World Famous Cheese Steaks.  Official USIL parties and auxiliary events will add to the festive spirit of the tournament and the experience had by spectators and players of the Freedom Cup.
